RUTX14 Product Change Notifications

Product change notifications (PCN) is a way of informing customers of upcoming changes related to Teltonika Networks products. This includes outward appearance adjustments, hardware improvements, changes to package contents, etc. Changes related to a product's firmware are not included in PCNs (click here to see the firmware changelog).

2025.08.25: Updated enclosure design

Starting from Q4 2025, the enclosure of RUTX14 devices will be replaced with a new single-piece anodized design.

Detailed description	The updated enclosure is now made from a single piece instead of two separate parts. Casing dimensions remain unchanged, but the depth and location of the grooves are different. See the images below for exact placement. Engraving will be used instead of stickers for markings. The new enclosure will be anodized instead of painted. Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 3-month transitional period starting from Q4 2025. During this period, your shipments of RUTX14 may consist of either the current or the new enclosure as described above.

2025.08.20: PR3P2AU3 accessory packaging changes

Beginning in September 2025, RUTX14 devices will come with a new eco packaging for PR3P2AU3 accesory.

2025.03.25: Greengrass Service Removal with RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14, support for the RUTX14 Greengrass service will be discontinued.

2025.03.19: Mass Packaging changes

Beginning in March 2025, the mass packaging for RUTX14 will updated with the following changes.

Individual packaging: Every RUTX14 unit will now be packed in an individual box before being placed in the packaging box. 2025.03.18: Transition to Eco Packaging

Beginning in March 2025, the packaging for RUTX14 updated with the following changes.

Detailed description	The inserts and plastic packaging will be replaced by individual cardboard boxes for both the product and its accessories. Of those boxes, the product box will include the Teltonika Networks logo and company information, and accessory boxes will include the accessory name, order code, image, EAN barcode, and QR code. Any empty space in the packaging will be filled with carton honeycomb fillers. These updates are meant to reduce the environmental footprint of our products, with eliminating plastic packaging being the primary focus. Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 6-month transitional period starting from March 2025. During this period, your shipments of RUTX14 may consist of either the current packaging or the new one described above. 2025.02.25: Mobile and I/O POST/GET Service Removal with RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14, support for the RUTX14 POST/GET service will be discontinued to enhance security while maintaining device functionality through alternative methods.

2025.02.20: WebUI Mode Update with RutOS 7.13

2024.12.09: Transition to HTTPS protocol RutOS 7.12

With the release of RutOS version 7.12 in January 2025, RUTX14 devices will disable the HTTP protocol and enable HTTPS Redirect by default to enhance WebUI and API communication security.

Detailed description	With the release of RutOS version 7.12 firmware, the device's WebUI and API default communication methods will change. The HTTP protocol will be changed to HTTPS (only) in default configuration for security reasons and complying with security standards. The "HTTPS Redirect" functionality will be enabled by default so all HTTP requests will be automatically redirected through the HTTPS channel.

2024.11.22: Device Housing - Engraving/Labeling changes

Starting from December 2024, RUTX14 devices will be produced with top and bottoms stickers.

Starting from October 1st 2024, new order codes created will have their own unique EAN codes.

2024.03.08: Reset button functionality change RutOS 7.07

With the release of RutOS version 7.07, RUTX14 device will experience changes related to the security improvements of the device.

Detailed description	Previously, during device resets, logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings remained unchanged. However, starting with RutOS firmware version 7.07, all devices will uniformly reset logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings to factory defaults when using the reset button. Other reset methods, including WebUI, SMS, and others, will remain unimpacted by this change.

Risk assessment	The loss of device logs upon utilizing the reset button may disrupt operational records and slow down subsequent troubleshooting efforts. Failure to set up the SIM PIN post-reset via the reset button may result in SIM card lockout due to repeated incorrect PIN entries, causing service disruption and requiring either SIM replacement or PIN reset. The device is still visible in RMS post-reset but cannot be accessed. Therefore, re-adding the device to RMS is necessary for continued access.

2023.10.30: Firmware Requirement Change

Starting November 2023 with batch 28, all RUTX14 devices will be manufactured with a new firmware version and will support only firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.05.3 or newer.

2023.08.02: Product packaging changes

Starting from 2023 Q3 RUTX14 product packaging will be changed.

Starting from 2022, week 40, RUTX14 routers will come with a new QSG flyer in the packaging.

2022.10.06: Changes in engraving/labeling

Starting from 2022, week 40, RUTX14 routers will be produced with modified bottom engraving/labeling.

Detailed description	The device's unique default password will be added to the bottom engraving/labeling. The formatting for the remaining information on the labeling/engraving will be adjusted, and the Fira font will be used instead of Arial. The device's unique default password information will also be added to the QR code Information displayed after scanning QR code with syntax: WIFI:T:WPA;S:{{SSID2G}};P:{{PASSWORD}};SN:{{SN}};I:{{IMEI}};M:{{MAC}};U:admin;PW:{{DEVICEPASSWORD}};B:{{BATCH}}; From the device top engraving/labeling, the previously relevant authentication information text will be removed: User/Pass: admin/admin01. The labeling on the product packaging will stay unchanged.

Change reasons	To accommodate the change from the standard default password to a unique default password for each device.
