RUT200 Product Change Notifications

Product change notifications (PCN) is a way of informing customers of upcoming changes related to Teltonika Networks products. This includes outward appearance adjustments, hardware improvements, changes to package contents, etc. Changes related to a product's firmware are not included in PCNs (click here to see the firmware changelog).

2025.09.17: Hardware Change New Modem

Starting from 2026 Q1, the RUT200 device cellular modem for standard order codes will gradually be replaced to in-house assembled LTE module.

Detailed description	RUT200 device cellular modem for standard order codes will be gradually replaced from EC200A-EU to ALA440-1E1. The current RUT200 hardware version (existing product codes) will remain available for ordering (contact your sales manager) during a transition period. Once this transition is completed, only the new hardware version RUT200 *4**** will be manufactured and shipped.

Change impact
Risk assessment	Physical design remains unchanged. Ordering code changes require clients to review their current codes. Devices with the new modem support only firmware version RutOS RUT2M_R_00.07.12.3 or higher. Custom firmware built on previous SDK versions is not supported. Due to the removal of WCDMA B5, clients relying on 3G connectivity must validate new RUT200 samples. Datasheets and certifications will need updating accordingly.

2025.05.28: Transition to HTTPS protocol RutOS 7.15

With the release of RutOS version 7.15 in Q2 2025, RUT200 devices will disable the HTTP protocol and enable HTTPS Redirect by default to enhance WebUI and API communication security.

Detailed description	With the release of RutOS version 7.15 firmware, the device's WebUI and API default communication methods will change. The HTTP protocol will be changed to HTTPS (only) in default configuration for security reasons and complying with security standards. The "HTTPS Redirect" functionality will be enabled by default so all HTTP requests will be automatically redirected through the HTTPS channel.

Risk assessment	Users may receive a browser warning indicating that the connection is not secure due to the use of a self-signed certificate in HTTPS. API users may experience issues depending on the tools they use to communicate with the API, as some may not support HTTPS, self-signed certificates or the tooling may have to be reconfigured to adapt to these changes.

2025.03.25: New Hardware Revision

All RUT200 devices manufactured starting from Q2 2025 will require firmware version RUT2M_R_00.07.12.3 or newer to function properly.

2025.02.25: Mobile and I/O POST/GET Service Removal with RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14, support for the RUT200 POST/GET service will be discontinued to enhance security while maintaining device functionality through alternative methods.

2025.02.24: Implementation of Read-Only System Files in RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14 in Q2 2025, in RUT200 devices will implement read-only permissions for critical system files by default. The new read-only configuration ensures a more secure and stable environment, though it may affect those who perform non-standard operations.

2025.02.20: WebUI Mode Update with RutOS 7.13

With the release of RutOS version 7.13, RUT200 the WebUI will undergo changes to enhance user experience and accessibility.

2024.12.19: Tamper evident sticker

Beginning in January 2025, RUT200 devices will packaged in a box with a tamper evident sticker.

2024.09.18: EAN Code Change

Starting from October 1st 2024, new order codes created will have their own unique EAN codes.

2024.03.08: Reset button functionality change RutOS 7.07

With the release of RutOS version 7.07, RUT200 device will experience changes related to the security improvements of the device.

Detailed description	Previously, during device resets, logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings remained unchanged. However, starting with RutOS firmware version 7.07, all devices will uniformly reset logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings to factory defaults when using the reset button. Other reset methods, including WebUI, SMS, and others, will remain unimpacted by this change.

Risk assessment	The loss of device logs upon utilizing the reset button may disrupt operational records and slow down subsequent troubleshooting efforts. Failure to set up the SIM PIN post-reset via the reset button may result in SIM card lockout due to repeated incorrect PIN entries, causing service disruption and requiring either SIM replacement or PIN reset. The device is still visible in RMS post-reset but cannot be accessed. Therefore, re-adding the device to RMS is necessary for continued access.

2023.08.02: Product packaging changes

Starting from 2023 Q3 RUT200 product packaging will be changed.

2022.08.18: QSG flyer replacement

Starting from 2022, week 35, RUT200 routers will come with a new QSG flyer in the packaging.

2022.08.18: Changes in engraving/labeling

Starting from 2022, week 35, RUT200 routers will be produced with modified bottom engraving/labeling.

The formatting for the remaining information on the labeling/engraving will be adjusted, and the Fira font will be used instead of Arial. The device's unique default password information will also be added to the QR code Information displayed after scanning QR code with syntax: WIFI:T:WPA;S:{{WIFISSID}};P:{{PASSWORD}};SN:{{SERIAL}};I:{{IMEI}};M:{{MAC}};U:admin;PW:{{DEVICEPASSWORD}};B:{{BATCH}}; From the device top engraving/labeling, the previously relevant authentication information text will be removed: User/Pass: admin/admin01. The labeling on the product packaging will stay unchanged.
