RUTX11 Product Change Notifications

Product change notifications (PCN) is a way of informing customers of upcoming changes related to Teltonika Networks products. This includes outward appearance adjustments, hardware improvements, changes to package contents, etc. Changes related to a product's firmware are not included in PCNs (click here to see the firmware changelog).

2025.09.18: Transition to Eco Packaging

Beginning in February 2026, the packaging for RUTX11 updated with the following changes.

Detailed description	The inserts and plastic packaging will be replaced by individual cardboard boxes for both the product and its accessories. Of those boxes, the product box will include the Teltonika Networks logo and company information, and accessory boxes will include the accessory name, order code, image, EAN barcode, and QR code. Any empty space in the packaging will be filled with carton honeycomb fillers. These updates are meant to reduce the environmental footprint of our products, with eliminating plastic packaging being the primary focus. Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 6-month transitional period starting from February 2026. During this period, your shipments of RUTX11 may consist of either the current packaging or the new one described above. 2025.08.21: eSIM Bootstrap capability

Starting from 2026 Q1, RUTX11 eSIM will include a bootstrap profile, which enables the download of an initial operational eSIM profile without requiring an additional internet connection.

2025.07.22: New RUTX11 hardware revision

Starting from Q3 2025, RUTX11 routers will be manufactured with updated hardware and will require firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.14 or newer to function properly. Change Notification! As of 2025-08-05, a revision has been made to this PCN document: the required firmware version has been updated from RUTX_R_00.07.12 to RUTX_R_00.07.14.

Detailed description	All RUTX11 devices manufactured starting from Q3 2025 will feature a new hardware revision. Devices with the new hardware will require firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.14 or newer. It is recommended to use the latest firmware version, at least RUTX_R_00.07.15. Starting from Q3 2025, RUTX11 devices will include the following hardware changes: Added possibility to manufacture with eSIM Manufactured with TPM Manufactured with an updated Bluetooth chip Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 3-month transitional period starting from Q3 2025. During this period, your shipments of RUTX11 may consist of either the current or the new hardware as described above.

Risk assessment	All risks are firmware-related. It is strongly advised to test firmware release RUTX_R_00.07.14 or newer on the updated RUTX11 hardware revision devices. New hardware support starts from RUTX_R_00.07.14 FW version, older FW versions will not be compatible. Custom firmwares created from an SDK will need adjustments for a new SDK version.

2025.03.25: Greengrass Service Removal with RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14, support for the RUTX11 Greengrass service will be discontinued.

2025.02.25: Mobile and I/O POST/GET Service Removal with RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14, support for the RUTX11 POST/GET service will be discontinued to enhance security while maintaining device functionality through alternative methods.

2025.02.24: Implementation of Read-Only System Files in RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14 in Q2 2025, in RUTX11 devices will implement read-only permissions for critical system files by default. The new read-only configuration ensures a more secure and stable environment, though it may affect those who perform non-standard operations.

2025.02.20: WebUI Mode Update with RutOS 7.13

2024.12.09: Transition to HTTPS protocol RutOS 7.12

With the release of RutOS version 7.12 in January 2025, RUTX11 devices will disable the HTTP protocol and enable HTTPS Redirect by default to enhance WebUI and API communication security.

Detailed description	With the release of RutOS version 7.12 firmware, the device's WebUI and API default communication methods will change. The HTTP protocol will be changed to HTTPS (only) in default configuration for security reasons and complying with security standards. The "HTTPS Redirect" functionality will be enabled by default so all HTTP requests will be automatically redirected through the HTTPS channel.

2024.11.22: Device Housing - Engraving/Labeling changes

Starting from December 2024, RUTX11 devices will be produced with top and bottoms stickers.

Starting from October 1st 2024, new order codes created will have their own unique EAN codes.

Starting from 2024 November, RUTX11 devices will be manufactured with a new cellular modem.

2024.03.08: Reset button functionality change RutOS 7.07

With the release of RutOS version 7.07, RUTX11 device will experience changes related to the security improvements of the device.

Detailed description	Previously, during device resets, logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings remained unchanged. However, starting with RutOS firmware version 7.07, all devices will uniformly reset logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings to factory defaults when using the reset button. Other reset methods, including WebUI, SMS, and others, will remain unimpacted by this change.

Risk assessment	The loss of device logs upon utilizing the reset button may disrupt operational records and slow down subsequent troubleshooting efforts. Failure to set up the SIM PIN post-reset via the reset button may result in SIM card lockout due to repeated incorrect PIN entries, causing service disruption and requiring either SIM replacement or PIN reset. The device is still visible in RMS post-reset but cannot be accessed. Therefore, re-adding the device to RMS is necessary for continued access.

2023.10.30: Firmware Requirement Change

Starting November 2023 with batch 56, all RUTX11 devices will be manufactured with a new firmware version and will support only firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.05.3 or newer.

2023.08.02: Product packaging changes

Starting from 2023 Q3 RUTX11 product packaging will be changed.

2022.10.06: QSG flyer replacement

Starting from 2022, week 40, RUTX11 routers will come with a new QSG flyer in the packaging.

2022.10.06: Changes in engraving/labeling

Starting from 2022, week 40, RUTX11 routers will be produced with modified bottom engraving/labeling.

Detailed description	The device's unique default password will be added to the bottom engraving/labeling. The formatting for the remaining information on the labeling/engraving will be adjusted, and the Fira font will be used instead of Arial. The device's unique default password information will also be added to the QR code Information displayed after scanning QR code with syntax: WIFI:T:WPA;S:{{SSID2G}};P:{{PASSWORD}};SN:{{SN}};I:{{IMEI}};M:{{MAC}};U:admin;PW:{{DEVICEPASSWORD}};B:{{BATCH}}; From the device top engraving/labeling, the previously relevant authentication information text will be removed: User/Pass: admin/admin01. The labeling on the product packaging will stay unchanged.

Effective 2020, week 36, RUTX11 routers will be produced with modified bottom labeling/engraving.
