The Norma Oficial Mexicana (Official Mexican Standard), abbreviated NOM, is the name of each of a series of official, compulsory standards and regulations for diverse activities in Mexico. They are more commonly referred to as NOMs or normas. All foreign and Mexican manufacturers, importers, and retailers must apply for NOM approval in order to sell/distribute products in Mexico.

As well as NOM, IFETEL certification is also mandatory for devices with wireless communication.

NOM

Certain NOMs require companies to obtain for their product(s) a certificate of compliance issued by an accredited certification body. In the case of products manufactured outside Mexico, this certificate must accompany the import documentation at the port of entry.

RUTXR1 was tested and certified in accordance with the Official Mexican Standard NOM-019-SCFI-1998 "Safety of data processing equipment.", published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of December 11, 1998.

IFETEL

Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) is the Federal Institute of Telecommunication also commonly referred to as IFETEL. IFETEL certification is applicable to telecommunication equipment including wireless products. In general any product that uses a frequency to transmit and/or receive, and telecom products that connect to satellites, the PSTN, or public network require IFETEL certification. IFETEL testing must be performed by an accredited laboratory in Mexico. There is no IFETEL mark, but once a product has been approved, it must be marked with its issued IFETEL ID number.

RUTXR1 was tested and certified in accordance with NOM-208-SCFI-2016 (IFT-008-2015).
