RUT901 Product Change Notifications

Product change notifications (PCN) is a way of informing customers of upcoming changes related to Teltonika Networks products. This includes outward appearance adjustments, hardware improvements, changes to package contents, etc. Changes related to a product's firmware are not included in PCNs (click here to see the firmware changelog).

This page stores information regarding changes to the RUT901 device. Below you will find a list of both upcoming and already implemented changes sorted by newest to oldest (top to bottom).

2024.01.10: New PCB revision

Starting from Q2 2024, RUT901 routers will be manufactured with updated MAIN and RF PCB revisions.

Detailed description	Starting from Q2 2024, RUT901 routers will be manufactured with updated MAIN and RF PCB revisions. The following are the detailed updates made to the MAIN and RF boards: Added new USB HUB Added new USB-UART ICs Added new ADC Added SIM card presence triggers to SoC GPIO Added shift register clearing circuitry Added pull-down resistors on pins to address potential issues that may arise when shift registers are in the tri-state high-z state. Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 3-month transitional period starting from Q2, 2024. During this period, your shipments of RUT901 may consist of either the current packaging or the new one described above.

Change impact
Risk assessment	New hardware support starts from RUT9M_R_00.07.06 FW version, older FW versions will not be compatible. Custom firmwares created from an SDK will need adjustments for a new SDK version.

2023.09.04: Packaging box changes

Starting from Q4 2023, batch 010, the product packaging of RUT901 will be updated with the following changes.

Detailed description	The fibre inserts of each product and its accessories will be replaced with individual cardboard boxes. Of those boxes, the product box will include the Teltonika Networks logo and company information, and accessory boxes will include the accessory name, order code, image, EAN barcode, and QR code. Any empty space in the packaging will be filled with Corrugated fibreboard fillers. These updates are meant to reduce the environmental footprint of our products, with eliminating plastic packaging being the primary focus. Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 4-month transitional period starting from Q4 2023, batch 010. During this period, your shipments of RUT901 may consist of either the current packaging or the new one described above. For inquiries regarding custom order codes, please contact your designated sales representative.

2023.04.17: Product packaging changes

Starting from 2023 Q2 RUT901 router product packaging will be changed.

Detailed description	The packaging for the product will undergo several updates including an update to the side print of the box. Additionally, the box will now feature press with certificates that will be printed according to the region. Finally, there will also be changes made to the company information section including the address, telephone number, email and website link.

All Teltonika Networks devices manufactured starting from 2023, week 9 will have additional new MAC address range.

Detailed description	All Teltonika Networks devices manufactured starting from 2023, week 9 may have a MAC address from the new MAC address range 20:97:27:00:00:00 - 20:97:27:FF:FF:FF, as well as the current MAC address range 00:1E:42:00:00:00 - 00:1E:42:FF:FF:FF
Change reasons	Endpoint of the previous MAC address range.
