Traditionally, we use a SIM card, also known as a Subscriber Identity Module card, which is a small, removable card in cellular devices that stores user identity and authentication information for accessing mobile networks. However there is a new feature, where we do not need to physically have a SIM card, we can have a eSIM card, which stands for embedded Subscriber Identity Module, that is an electronic version of a SIM card! eSIM most of the time comes directly embedded into the device's motherboard, which cannot be removed or replaced by the user of the device.

Traditionally, mobile devices rely on a SIM card, or Subscriber Identity Module, which is a small, removable chip that stores user identity and authentication data necessary for accessing mobile networks. However, a more advanced option is now available: the eSIM, or embedded Subscriber Identity Module. Unlike traditional SIM cards, an eSIM is a digital version that is integrated directly into the device's motherboard, eliminating the need for a physical card. This embedded technology is non-removable and offers greater flexibility and convenience for users. In this configuration example we will show you on how to use eSIM on Teltonika devices.
