Product change notifications (PCN) is a way of informing customers of upcoming changes related to Teltonika Networks products. This includes outward appearance adjustments, hardware improvements, changes to package contents, etc. Changes related to a product's firmware are not included in PCNs (click here to see the firmware changelog).

This page stores information regarding changes to the RUT951 device. Below you will find a list of both upcoming and already implemented changes sorted by newest to oldest (top to bottom).

2025.08.21: eSIM Bootstrap capability

Starting from 2026 Q1, RUT951 eSIM will include a bootstrap profile, which enables the download of an initial operational eSIM profile without requiring an additional internet connection.

Detailed description

• Addition of bootstrap profile to eSIM
• Automated SIM switching functionality when no physical SIM is present and bootstrap profile is active
• Device with active bootstrap profile will have access only to RMS (Remote Management System) with limited functionality and SM-DP server for downloading operational profile
• Bootstrap profile has a 10 MB mobile data limit
• Bootstrap profile is valid for 1 year, starting from the manufacturing date of the device

2025.07.22: New RUT951 hardware revision

Starting from Q3 2025, RUT951 routers will be manufactured with updated hardware and will require firmware version RUT9M_R_00.07.10 or newer to function properly.

Detailed description

All RUT951 devices manufactured starting from Q3 2025 will feature a new hardware revision. Devices with the new hardware will require firmware version RUT9M_R_00.07.10 or newer. It is recommended to use the latest firmware version, at least RUT9M_R_00.07.15.

Starting from Q3 2025, RUT951 devices will include the following hardware changes:

  • Added possibility to manufacture with eSIM

Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 3-month transitional period starting from Q3 2025. During this period, your shipments of RUT951 may consist of either the current or the new hardware as described above.

All risks are firmware-related. It is strongly advised to test firmware release RUT9M_R_00.07.10 or newer on the updated RUT951 hardware revision devices.

New hardware support starts from RUT9M_R_00.07.10 FW version, older FW versions will not be compatible. Custom firmwares created from an SDK will need adjustments for a new SDK version.

2025.05.28: Transition to HTTPS protocol RutOS 7.15

With the release of RutOS version 7.15 in Q2 2025, RUT951 devices will disable the HTTP protocol and enable HTTPS Redirect by default to enhance WebUI and API communication security.

Detailed description With the release of RutOS version 7.15 firmware, the device's WebUI and API default communication methods will change. The HTTP protocol will be changed to HTTPS (only) in default configuration for security reasons and complying with security standards. The "HTTPS Redirect" functionality will be enabled by default so all HTTP requests will be automatically redirected through the HTTPS channel.

2025.02.25: Mobile and I/O POST/GET Service Removal with RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14, support for the RUT951 POST/GET service will be discontinued to enhance security while maintaining device functionality through alternative methods.

2025.02.24: Implementation of Read-Only System Files in RutOS 7.14

With the release of RutOS version 7.14 in Q2 2025, in RUT951 devices will implement read-only permissions for critical system files by default. The new read-only configuration ensures a more secure and stable environment, though it may affect those who perform non-standard operations.

2025.02.20: WebUI Mode Update with RutOS 7.13

With the release of RutOS version 7.13, RUT951 the WebUI will undergo changes to enhance user experience and accessibility.

2024.03.08: Reset button functionality change RutOS 7.07

With the release of RutOS version 7.07, RUT906 device will experience changes related to the security improvements of the device.

However, starting with RutOS firmware version 7.07, all devices will uniformly reset logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings to factory defaults when using the reset button. Other reset methods, including WebUI, SMS, and others, will remain unimpacted by this change.

2024.01.10: New PCB revision

RUT951 PCN "2024.01.10: New PCB revision" was updated with the information and is replaced with RUT951 PCN "2024.05.15: New PCB revision".

Starting from Q2 2024, RUT951 routers will be manufactured with updated MAIN and RF PCB revisions.

2023.09.04: Packaging box changes

Starting from Q4 2023, batch 017, the product packaging of RUT951 will be updated with the following changes.

Detailed description The fibre inserts of each product and its accessories will be replaced with individual cardboard boxes. Of those boxes, the product box will include the Teltonika Networks logo and company information, and accessory boxes will include the accessory name, order code, image, EAN barcode, and QR code. Any empty space in the packaging will be filled with Corrugated fibreboard fillers. These updates are meant to reduce the environmental footprint of our products, with eliminating plastic packaging being the primary focus.

Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 4-month transitional period starting from Q4 2023, batch 017. During this period, your shipments of RUT951 may consist of either the current packaging or the new one described above. 2023.06.07: QSG flyer replacement

Starting in Q3 of 2023, RUT951 routers will come with a new QSG flyer in the packaging.

2023.04.17: Product packaging changes

Starting from 2023 Q2 RUT951 router product packaging will be changed.

Additionally, the box will now feature press with certificates that will be printed according to the region. Finally, there will also be changes made to the company information section including the address, telephone number, email and website link.

2022.08.18: QSG flyer replacement

Starting from 2022, week 35, RUT951 routers will come with a new QSG flyer in the packaging.

Detailed description RUT951 devices manufactured starting from Q3 2022 will have a new QSG flyer in the packaging. The new QSG flyer includes the short version of QSG with a QR code/link to the full Web QSG version: teltonika-networks.com/QSG_RUT951

2022.08.18: Changes in engraving/labeling

Starting from 2022, week 35, RUT951 routers will be produced with modified bottom engraving/labeling.

Detailed description The device's unique default password will be added to the bottom engraving/labeling. The formatting for the remaining information on the labeling/engraving will be adjusted, and the Fira font will be used instead of Arial. The device's unique default password information will also be added to the QR code Information displayed after scanning QR code with syntax: WIFI:T:WPA;S:{{WIFISSID}};P:{{PASSWORD}};SN:{{SERIAL}};I:{{IMEI}};M:{{MAC}};U:admin;PW:{{DEVICEPASSWORD}};B:{{BATCH}};


From the device top engraving/labeling, the previously relevant authentication information text will be removed: User/Pass: admin/admin01.


The labeling on the product packaging will stay unchanged.
