RMS Warranty Extension Packs

Introduction

RMS Warranty Extension Packs are a way of extending your device's existing warranty period for up to a combined total of 5 years.

Extended warranty can only be applied while the device still has some remaining manufacturer or previously extended warranty (i.e., while the warranty is still active).

It is possible to extend the warranty multiple times (for example: manufacturer 2 years → extend by 1 year → later extend by another 1 year), as long as there is still active warranty coverage at the time of each extension.

Device groups

Warranty packs can be separated into different groups. And each device model belongs to a certain group. The list of groups and their respective devices can be seen below:

To view which group your owned packs belong to, head to the Administration → Resources section. The pack's code will be shown under the Type column.

To identify the group, look at the letter directly following the "W" in the code, for example:

RMSMPWA10001

In this example, the group would be A.

Viewing the extended warranty period

To see your extended warranty period within RMS, you need to customize your Page Settings:

1. Head to Management → Devices and click on Page Settings.

   

2. In the newly opened window, select Create New Preset.

   

3. If you wish to retain the other information that was previously shown (serial number, MAC, etc.), select the Based on preset option to Default.
4. Click Add beside the Parameters section.

   

5. Under the Default Parameters section, you'll find the Extended warranty setting. Alternatively, you can use the search bar to find the parameter.
6. After selecting it, click on Apply, and then click on Save.

   

7. You'll be returned to the initial window, where you then need to select the newly created preset and apply it.

   

8. After applying the preset, a new column will become visible where the Extended warranty can then be seen. In case the Extended warranty isn't applied, you'll see a "-".

   

The extended warranty period can also be viewed under the Company Details page, as seen below:

There is also a third way of checking the extended warranty period, under the Administration → Resources tab, by clicking on Actions → Check extended device warranty.

You then have to enter the serial number of the device you're checking and click Check.
