RUTM30 Product Change Notifications

Product change notifications (PCN) is way of informing customers of upcoming changes related to Teltonika products. This includes outward appearance adjustments, hardware improvements, changes to package contents, etc.

This page stores information regarding changes made to the RUTM30 device. Below you will find a list of both upcoming and already implemented changes sorted from newest to oldest (top to bottom).

2026.07.20: SDK Changes

With the release of RutOS version 7.25 in 2026 Q4, changes will be introduced to the Software Development Kit (SDK) used for firmware compilation on RUTM30 devices.

Detailed description	Starting with RutOS version 7.25, the Software Development Kit (SDK) used for compiling device firmware will be updated and migrated to a new build system and SDK structure. This change affects customers who use the SDK to develop and compile custom firmware images. Existing custom SDK-based solutions may no longer be directly compatible with the updated SDK structure and tooling. Customers intending to compile firmware based on RutOS version 7.25 or newer will need to adapt their custom SDK solutions to align with the new SDK structure and compilation system. Devices running standard Teltonika firmware images without custom SDK usage are not affected by this change.
Change reasons	To migrate the firmware compilation process to a build system and SDK structure that is better aligned with internal development requirements and long-term maintenance goals.

Change impact
Risk assessment	SDK compatibility risk: Customers using custom SDK-based firmware solutions will need to modify and adapt their existing SDK integrations to be compatible with the new SDK structure introduced in RutOS 7.25. Compilation impact: Existing custom build scripts, tools, or workflows may no longer function without changes when compiling firmware based on RutOS 7.25 or newer. No impact on standard users: Customers using official Teltonika firmware images without SDK customization are not affected by this change. Operational continuity: Devices already deployed in the field remain fully operational and are not impacted unless a firmware recompilation using the updated SDK is required.
Suggested implementation plan	Customers using the SDK for custom firmware development should review and adapt their existing SDK solutions to the updated SDK structure before migrating to RutOS version 7.25 or newer. It is recommended to validate custom firmware builds in a test environment prior to deployment. 2026.07.20: Updated enclosure design

Starting from September 2026, the enclosure of RUTM30 devices will be replaced with a new single-piece anodized design.

Detailed description	The updated enclosure is now made from two separate parts instead of a single piece. Casing dimensions remain unchanged, but the depth and shape of the grooves are different. See the images below for exact placement. Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 3-month transitional period starting from September 2026. During this period, your shipments of RUTM30 may consist of either the current or the new enclosure as described above.

2025.09.19: PR1CS530 accessory packaging changes

Beginning in October 2025, RUTM30 devices will come with a new eco packaging for PR1CS530 accesory.

Detailed description	Starting in October 2025, RUTM30 devices will include an updated accessory packaging that uses environmentally friendly carton material (Carton box: 60×25×20 mm), replacing the previous plastic bag. The carton box packaging will have this additional information printed: minor technical information; QR code; company information; certificate markings; EAN-13 barcode; Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 1-month transitional period starting from October, 2025. During this period, your shipments of RUTM30 accesory PR1CS530 may consist of either the current packaging or the new one described above.

2025.08.21: eSIM Bootstrap capability

Starting from 2026 Q1, RUTM30 eSIM will include a bootstrap profile, which enables the download of an initial operational eSIM profile without requiring an additional internet connection.

Detailed description	• Addition of bootstrap profile to eSIM • Automated SIM switching functionality when no physical SIM is present and bootstrap profile is active • Device with active bootstrap profile will have access only to RMS (Remote Management System) with limited functionality and SM-DP server for downloading operational profile • Bootstrap profile has a 10 MB mobile data limit • Bootstrap profile is valid for 1 year, starting from the manufacturing date of the device Read the following eSIM Bootstrap guide to familiarize yourself with the functionality. Bootstrap functionality is officially supported from firmware version RUTM_R_00.07.17.2 or newer.
