PIN FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
5 VDC - Pin 2, Pin 4. 3.3 VDC - Pin 1, Pin 17. GND - Pin 9, Pin 25, Pin 39, Pin 6, Pin 14, Pin 20, Pin 30, Pin 34 Device power 5 VDC and 3.3 VDC. For eSIM variant both voltages are needed.
Default Pin 16 (Alternative is Pin 11 (not assembled)) PWR_KEY (Modem turn on/off) Digital Input, 0 - 3.3 V logic level, active High, to activate use pulse (≥500 ms)
Pin 36 MODEM WAKEUP (Wake up modem from a sleep mode) Digital Input, 0 - 3.3 V logic level, active High
Default Pin 22 (Alternative is Pin 13 (not assembled)) MODEM RESET (Resets the modem) Digital Input, 0 - 3.3 V logic level, active High
PCM_SYNC - Pin 35, PCM_CLK - Pin 12, PCM_DIN - Pin 40, PCM_DOUT - Pin 38, SLAVE/MASTER_SEL (PCM Master device by default, pull this pin low to change it to slave device) - Pin 37 PCM (optional) Digital Interface, 0 - 3.3 V logic level
Default Pin 31 (Alternative is Pin 29 (not assembled)) SIM_SELECT (used to select between SIM (by default) and eSIM) Note: only available in EBD021 with eSIM variant Digital Input, 0 - 3.3 V logic level, SIM is selected by default, but with high logic level can be switched to eSIM
I2C_SDA - Pin 27 I²C SDA (data line) for the HAT EEPROM Pin 27 is part of a special 2-pin I²C bus used only for reading the small EEPROM on official Raspberry Pi HAT boards
I2C_SCL - Pin 28 I²C SCL (Clock) Pin 28 provides the I²C clock (SCL) signal for the Raspberry Pi’s HAT identification EEPROM
Default Pin 18 (Alternative is Pin 15 (not assembled)) USB_BOOT Forced download mode, in this mode, the modem can be upgraded through the USB interface. Pull this pin low (before turning the modem on) to enable it
