OTD500 Starlink
The information in this page is updated in accordance with firmware version OTD500_R_00.07.19.4.
Summary
Starlink monitoring and management dasboard page provides a real-time interface for monitoring and controlling Starlink dishes. It communicates directly with the dish using the gRPC protocol over grpcurl, continuously gathering telemetry and operational data. This includes key performance indicators such as network status, antenna quality, obstruction events and firmware details. The system streams this information live, allowing users to view up-to-date health and performance metrics at a glance.
In addition to passive monitoring, the dashboard enables active device management. Through the same gRPC interface, users can issue control commands such as:
- Unstow – Deploy the dish into operational position.
- Stow – Retract the dish safely for transport or storage.
- Reboot – Restart the device to resolve connectivity or performance issues.
This combination of continuous telemetry visualization and direct command execution makes the dashboard a central tool for both overseeing Starlink operations and performing essential maintenance tasks in real time.
Note: Starlink is additional software that can be installed from the System → Package Manager page.
Note: If the Starlink dish is used with the Starlink router (not in bypass mode), our router's IP address adjustment will be required to anything other than the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, e.g., 192.168.2.1.
