2025.08.25: Updated enclosure design
Starting from Q3 2025, the enclosure of RUTX12 devices will be replaced with a new single-piece anodized design.
The updated enclosure is now made from a single piece instead of two separate parts.
Casing dimensions remain unchanged, but the depth and location of the grooves are different. See the images below for exact placement.

2025.08.20: PR3P2AU3 accessory packaging changes
Beginning in September 2025, RUTX12 devices will come with a new eco packaging for PR3P2AU3 accesory.
Starting in September 2025, RUTX12 devices will include an updated accessory packaging that uses environmentally friendly carton material (Carton box: 110×90×54 mm), replacing the previous plastic bag.
The carton box packaging will have this additional information printed:

2025.07.22: New RUTX12 hardware revision
Starting from Q3 2025, RUTX12 routers will be manufactured with updated hardware and will require firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.16 or newer to function properly.

2025.04.22: QSG flyer replacement
Beginning in May 2025, RUTX12 devices will come with a new QSG flyer in the packaging.
Starting in May 2025, RUTX12 devices will include an updated Quick Start Guide (QSG) flyer in the packaging. This new flyer features multiple languages—English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian—along with a condensed version of the QSG and a QR code/link to the full web version at teltonika-networks.com/QSG_RUTX12

2025.03.25: Greengrass Service Removal with RutOS 7.14
With the release of RutOS version 7.14, support for the RUTX12 Greengrass service will be discontinued.
With the introduction of RutOS 7.14, support for the AWS Greengrass v1 service will be removed. This change is due to AWS discontinuing support for Greengrass v1 as of June 30, 2023, meaning no further updates or security patches are provided.

2025.03.19: Mass Packaging changes
Beginning in March 2025, the mass packaging for RUTX12 will updated with the following changes.
Starting in March 2025, the mass packaging box for the RUTX12 will be updated as follows:
New box dimensions: 360 × 315 × 185 mm (previously 390 × 185 × 185 mm).
Increased shipping quantity: Each packaging box will now contain 20 units instead of the previous 10 units.
Individual packaging: Every RUTX12 unit will now be packed in an individual box before being placed in the packaging box.

2025.03.18: Transition to Eco Packaging
Beginning in March 2025, the packaging for RUTX12 updated with the following changes.
The inserts and plastic packaging will be replaced by individual cardboard boxes for both the product and its accessories. Of those boxes, the product box will include the Teltonika Networks logo and company information, and accessory boxes will include the accessory name, order code, image, EAN barcode, and QR code. Any empty space in the packaging will be filled with carton honeycomb fillers. These updates are meant to reduce the environmental footprint of our products, with eliminating plastic packaging being the primary focus.
Please note that this change will be implemented gradually, throughout a 6-month transitional period starting from March 2025. During this period, your shipments of RUTX12 may consist of either the current packaging or the new one described above. 2025.02.25: Mobile and I/O POST/GET Service Removal with RutOS 7.14

2024.12.09: Transition to HTTPS protocol RutOS 7.12
With the release of RutOS version 7.12 in January 2025, RUTX12 devices will disable the HTTP protocol and enable HTTPS Redirect by default to enhance WebUI and API communication security.
With the release of RutOS version 7.12 firmware, the device's WebUI and API default communication methods will change. The HTTP protocol will be changed to HTTPS (only) in default configuration for security reasons and complying with security standards. The "HTTPS Redirect" functionality will be enabled by default so all HTTP requests will be automatically redirected through the HTTPS channel.

Detailed description
Previously, during device resets, logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings remained unchanged. However, starting with RutOS firmware version 7.07, all devices will uniformly reset logs, RMS connection state data, and SIM PIN settings to factory defaults when using the reset button. Other reset methods, including WebUI, SMS, and others, will remain unimpacted by this change.

The loss of device logs upon utilizing the reset button may disrupt operational records and slow down subsequent troubleshooting efforts.
Failure to set up the SIM PIN post-reset via the reset button may result in SIM card lockout due to repeated incorrect PIN entries, causing service disruption and requiring either SIM replacement or PIN reset.
The device is still visible in RMS post-reset but cannot be accessed. Therefore, re-adding the device to RMS is necessary for continued access.

Starting November 2023 with batch 35, all RUTX12 devices will be manufactured with a new firmware version and will support only firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.05.3 or newer.

Starting November 2023 with batch 35, all RUTX12 devices will be manufactured with a new firmware version. They will require firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.05.3 or newer. Downgrading to previous firmware versions will no longer be supported.
Please note that your RUTX12 shipments may include either the prior version or the newly described version above due to stocked devices.

The formatting for the remaining information on the labeling/engraving will be adjusted, and the Fira font will be used instead of Arial.
